Advice worthy of the investment.
We're an independent publication for homeowners making serious upgrade decisions.
Elevate Home is an independent publication for homeowners making serious upgrade decisions — whole-home battery backup, EV charging, luxury aging-in-place design, outdoor kitchens, generators, smart home systems, HVAC, water treatment, and pools.
Why we exist
A $60,000 home upgrade deserves better than a 400-word listicle padded with affiliate links. We started Elevate Home because the advice available to homeowners spending real money was either thin content-farm filler or contractor sales copy. Neither helps you decide.
So we built the publication we wanted to read: long, specific, honest guides that treat you like someone spending your own money — because you are.
How we work
Every guide is built on the same foundation:
- Real 2026 cost ranges — equipment, labor, permits, and the gotchas installers mention late. Always ranges, never a single national price presented as fact.
- Manufacturer documentation first — specifications are checked against manufacturer docs and described as approximate where they vary by configuration.
- Comparisons with teeth — head-to-head breakdowns that name genuine trade-offs and match products to home profiles instead of declaring fake winners.
- Independent picks — our rankings are never for sale. See our affiliate disclosure and editorial standards.
Editorial Leadership
Kaizen is the editor behind Elevate Home, leading our spec-sheet research, building-code analysis, and published pricing research.
What we're not
We're a research publication, not a contractor marketplace and not a manufacturer mouthpiece. For electrical, gas, structural, plumbing, or waterproofing work, our guides always direct you to licensed professionals — and nothing we publish replaces a site-specific quote, a permit review, or your local code.
Corrections
Costs change, products update, and occasionally we get something wrong. When that happens we investigate and fix it, with a dated note on significant changes. See our corrections policy.
